MCACN 2026 Pure Stock Muscle Car Drags Invitational
As the "outdoor" season winds down for those of us in the Midwest, we are primed and ready to head over to the annual Pure Stock Muscle Car Drag races this week. And if you are on the other side of the country or want to catch some auction action on TV, it is time for the inaugural Mecum Dallas auction, September 22-26. For over ten years now we have had the honor of hosting a great group of cars and racers at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show. These cars are worthy of winning show awards, but there is a difference; these are not "trailer queens!" The owners of these Muscle Machines use them for their original intent, which is pretty much beating on them at the track. You will see real COPO's, Hemi's, GS's, GTO's, Nova's, Trans Ams and just about anything else, including some AMC's and even supercharged Studebakers.
The races take place Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26 at the Mid Michigan Motorplex in Stranton, Michigan. "What distinguishes our race is that drivers may make only limited modifications to their cars, ensuring the Detroit muscle remains just like when it rolled off the assembly line. The result is more than one hundred beautiful, high-quality cars—that do more than sit in the garage." And to make it even better, the participants are happy to help each other, lending a hand or some tools. Of course, Donnie Brass has again gathered up a great group of PSMCDR participants for the MCACN show this year. This display features a variety of makes and models and is always a super fun spot at our show. Be sure to make a point of checking out the races this week and the display at MCACN, November 21-22.
Official 2026 Schedule of Events:
Friday, September 25 (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM): All-day qualifying and tuning passes as drivers seek their baseline times.
Saturday, September 26 (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM): Official Race Day, featuring the signature best-of-three paired shootouts based on Friday's qualifying data.
Spectators can expect to see legendary nameplates from the 1960s and 1970s—including rare Hemi's, Cobra Jets, and Stage 1 Buicks—going head-to-head in a casual, family-friendly environment.

Mecum at the Nashville Superspeedway
Mecum Auctions is headed to Nashville to host Music City’s first-ever large-scale live collector car auction. The event will take over the Nashville Superspeedway and bring together the car collecting world and the racing community in a unique new way. CAR ENTRY: We have done it again and earlier than ever! The show is basically "sold out" for all areas with about 600 cars confirmed. All judging categories have completely sold out at a record pace, especially for Concours Stock and Day2. We thank all of you who will be joining us from over 40 states, several provinces of Canada and this year, New Zealand! While we rarely get cancellations, I never leave any spots open!

FREE MCACN MAGAZINE: I put the final touches on our new 92 page MCACN magazine this week, and it is being wrapped up as this is being written. I have to say it is pretty exciting to share some of the many features for this year, but I can also say it is a mere sampling of all the stuff we have in store for you.
