Once again we are proud to team up with the Gilmore Car Museum for our annual Real Performance Meetup, Saturday, June 27. This one is all about having fun and spreading the word about what we do at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals. And of course, doing it at one of the best car museums in the world. Seriously...if you have been there you know and if you haven't, this is another reason to join us:

The Gilmore Museum is in Hickory Corners, Michigan, between Chicago and Detroit. Here is a summary direct from their website:

The Gilmore Car Museum started in the early 1960s when Donald S. Gilmore began collecting vintage automobiles. Some of the first vehicles in his collection included a 1927 Ford Model T, a 1913 Rolls Royce, and a 1920 Pierce Arrow. Restoring that classic Pierce-Arrow at his home on nearby Gull Lake ignited a passion. Over the years that followed Donald continued collecting some of the world’s most renowned automobiles.

To accommodate his collection he acquired 90 acres of land in southwestern Michigan in a small town known as Hickory Corners. It was his wife Genevieve who had the idea of turning the collection into a museum, providing future generations access to Donald’s one-of-a-kind collection. They established a non-profit foundation and opened the museum to the public for the first time on Sunday, July 31,1966.

Today, the Gilmore Car Museum is North America's largest auto museum with over 400 vehicles on display and over 209,100 square feet of exhibit space. The Museum’s 90-acre Historic Campus features numerous vintage structures including a restored and fully-functioning 1941 Silk City Diner, a recreated 1930s Shell Station, seven onsite Partner Museums, and so much more.

So this alone is a reason to join us, but let's add row after row of prime American Muscle outside. We will have our tent surrounded by past MCACN participants and of course, we will be there to talk about what we have in store for you for the upcoming show, November 21-22. We will have super special deals on past event T-shirts with sizes up to 3xl and Official Event cars along with other goodies, and we are excited to have Adrianna joining us to sign your FREE posters!

There will be a variety of "Pick" awards presented but in the effort to keep things fun, no formal judging. This event is all about sharing stories, showing off your car (or truck) and spending quality time with friends and family. And if you have a vehicle you've shown with us at MCACN, please email me at bashton426@gmail.com so we can "tag" you to be in our area surrounding the MCACN display. We already have some show-stoppers committed and a group of Pure Stock Muscle Car Drag participants, so c'mon out and join in the fun.

In addition to the cars, there will be a swap meet, a variety of great food options, (love those root beer floats at the Diner!), onsite slot car racing, live music and more. I'll be bringing along some of our Muscle Bicycles too!

The show runs from 9 am - 3 pm with move-in starting at 8 am. Whether you have shown with us or not, please plan on joining us with any make, model or year car or truck. Let's make some memories and new friends and check out a truly outstanding place that is a definite must see/must do for your whole family. You can pre-register (recommended) or you can sign up at the gate Saturday morning. Pre-register here and as mentioned, if you have shown with us previously let us know so we can direct you to the MCACN special display area.

What a week it was! We travelled over 2,900 miles and met so many people. We distributed thousands of postcards, stickers and magnets and it was so nice to spend some quality time with so many of you. I'm especially excited about extending the invitation to several members of our armed forces for our Military Appreciation displays and again, we met some awesome younger enthusiasts who accepted my invitation to join our Future Generation display and panel discussion. The future looks bright!

MCACN Official Host Hotels

We work hard to secure great rates, MCACN exclusive extra perks and reduced rate parking for not only our participants, but our spectators too. We have SEVEN Official Host Hotels, all within walking distance with rates starting at just $149.00 per night. The Embassy Suites are sold out, but the other six currently have availability. Read about all of them here and use our direct booking links to lock in your rooms. And remember; we will NEVER call or email you to solicit hotel business. if you get any call or email about hotels, they are SCAMS, Delete or hang up!

Mid America Motorworks

We are deeply saddened by the news that one of our Official Sponsors, Mid America Motorworks suffered extensive damage at their campus in Effingham, Illinois. While we are relieved that nobody was hurt, we can't imagine how hard it is to deal with the devastation. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Yager family and all of the Mid America Motorworks team.

Looking forward to seeing you at the Gilmore Car Museum, Saturday, June 27!
