STOCK RACER WALLY BOOTH TO JOIN THE AMC/YA GROUP AT 2011 MCACN SHOW!
We are thrilled to
announce that Wally Booth, legendary Pro Stock drag racer from Michigan, will
be joining us November 19-20 at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals
show. And if that isn’t enough to get your heart pumping, he will be joined by
not just one, but TWO of his cool AMC Pro Stockers!
Wally Booth has seen
some incredible racing in his day, running some great cars going back to 1964.
When he joined forces with AMC to head up their Pro Stock efforts in the early
70’s, he had to overcome a lack of factory support, since there were virtually
no aftermarket parts available, to be the first guy to put AMC on the drag
racing map. Starting with a Gremlin, (a car that is certainly not the most
aerodynamic car of the era), he used his extensive engine building skills to
gain national attention...and plenty of respect. With the introduction of the
far slicker Hornet in 1973, he found not only a quicker ride, but his first
National title in 1974 in Gainesville, Florida at the Gatornationals.
Wally Booth will be
reunited with his Gremlin and his Hornet Pro Stockers at our show this year,
when they join our “AMC/Ya” display. These cars are currently owned by Don and
Donnie Schmitz of Kenosha, Wisconsin. This is authentic drag racing history
with a real drag racing legend! We would like to extend our sincere
appreciation to Wally and the Schmitz family for helping us to continue to
“raise the bar” to create the best All-indoor specialty show devoted to Muscle
Cars, Dealer-built Supercars, Corvettes and in this case, Race Car history!
Wally will be spending some quality time with us both Saturday and Sunday, so
be sure to plan on meeting him, along with Don and Donnie Schmitz at the show.
Please remember to
tell, or better yet, bring your friends and family to the Muscle Car and
Corvette Nationals show Saturday, November 19 and/or Sunday, November 20. The
future of our show is dependent on our spectator gate, so don’t keep it a
secret! Advance discount tickets will go on sale soon at several of our
Chicago area sponsors businesses, Colin’s Classic Auto in Milwaukee, and also
directly through our website.
If you would like
to join us to show a special car or showcase your automotive products or
services, please submit your application through our website,
or call me directly at 586-549-5291.
