FNBNY MUSCLE CAR & CORVETTE NATIONALS ANNOUNCES 2011 INVITATIONAL DISPLAYS

With the unprecedented success of the FNBNY Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals show and the popularity of their Invitational displays, the MCACN crew is pleased to announce an impressive lineup for 2011.

Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the 1971 model year, the “Class of 1971” showcase will feature hardtop and convertible circles and more with what many consider the final year for all-out performance cars and wild colors. Already confirmed are several Hemi ‘Cuda convertibles, Olds W-30’s in both hardtop and convertible form and a hot 429 powered Torino Cobra. As if that isn’t enough, a circle of ’71 LS6 Corvettes will also be featured, a real treat since a mere 188 were produced.

Stepping back 50 years, the MCACN crew will also be hosting a “Class of ‘61” display. Plan on seeing several notable big-body performance machines, as Royal Pontiac and the Ramchargers were coming on strong and Chevy introduced both the SS and the 409 to their lineup.

The popular Shelby Snakepit, hosted by noted Shelby expert and author Colin Comer, returns, along with the Motion Madness Display, featuring Joel “Mr. Motion” Rosens wildest creations. Both of these displays will showcase a variety of different cars this year, many never before shown in Chicago. Both Joel Rosen and Marty Schorr will also be appearing.

For the Chevy fan, a very special gathering of rare factory COPO, (Central Office Production Order) cars will be on display, featuring a variety of real 1969 ZL1 Camaro’s, which are considered by many to be the ultimate Bowtie Muscle Machines. With a mere 69 built, seeing even one of these ultra-valuable beasts is a treat. This may be the largest gathering ever assembled under one roof!

The Mopar fans wont be left out, as a special group of Dodge Challenger T/A’s is also being assembled. These purpose built Trans Am terrors, featuring the 340+6 pack engine, side exit exhaust and scooped fiberglass hoods, are always stand-outs. Expect to see several one-off versions among the group. The MCACN crew is hoping to feature at least one of each of the 20 colors offered back in 1970 in this very special display.

The Vintage Certification program, launched in 2009 with Camaro’s and Chevelles, expanded with the addition of Corvette last year. For 2011, expansion continues with Pontiac, featuring an amazing untouched original SD-455 Trans Am and also a Dodge Challenger T/A that has traveled a mere 400 miles.

Additional special displays will feature the 2nd generation Camaro’s powered by the 396 L78 engine, vintage Midget Racers, the sYc Supercars and members displays and also displays featuring Chicago icons Nickey Chicago and Mr. Norms creations.
