MUSCLE CAR AND CORVETTE NATIONALS RETURNS TO CHICAGO

A group of Muscle Car enthusiasts, led by former Chevy Vettefest Show Manager Bob Ashton, recently hosted the largest all indoor specialty Muscle Car and Corvette show ever seen. With an emphasis on the hot dealer built Supercars from Nickey, Mr. Norms and Yenko along with an incredible lineup of over 500 rare muscle machines and Corvettes, the show, which took place in November, was a huge success.

“I have learned a lot with my previous involvement in putting together indoor car shows” Ashton stated. “What sets us apart is the overall quality of the cars and the vendors that are participate.” Special Invitational displays highlight the list of features. For 2010, expect to see the finest 1970 model year muscle machines in “The Class of 1970”, the return of the “Shelby Snakepit”, showcasing Carroll Shelbys’ finest and Motion Madness, which may be the largest gathering ever of real-deal documented Baldwin-Motion machines. Also in the works are a Buick Stage 2 display and several others.

Among the cars that were on display at the 2009 show; the original Car and Driver 64 Royal Bobcat GTO, a rare unrestored street GT40P Mark I, #1043, the 1969 Hurst Hemi Under Glass Barracuda, a fine collection of L-88 Corvettes including the 1968 Sunray/DX racer and many more, too numerous to list.

The sponsor list for the inaugural show is indeed impressive with Nickey Chicago, Mr. Norms Garage, Bill Stasek Chevrolet, Route 66 Motorsports, Supercar Automotive, Reliable Carriers, Finish Line Performance, D&M Corvette, Mid America Motorworks and Corvette Central who were all on hand with impressive displays.

Additional features include a big all automotive swap meet, a variety of specialty automotive vendors, the “Automotive Authors Row”, a car corral area offering collector cars for sale and a charity auction that benefits the Rescue 1, Fire Safety For Kids program.
