MID AMERICA MOTORWORKS CORVETTE FUNFEST STARTS NOW!
We are really excited about the 19th Annual Mid America
Motorworks Funfest, which is starting TODAY in Effingham,
Illinois. Believe me, when it comes to throwing a party,
Mike Yager and his team know how to do it right. Like the
MCACN show, this is a family friendly event with a
whole lot to do, even if you aren’t as crazy about cars as
some of us are. The list of happenings is long and there
really is something for everyone.
First and foremost are the Corvettes; there will be row
after row of every possible variation you can think of.
Stock, modified and even a few racers. New 2013’s direct
from Bowling Green courtesy of GM, the latest creations from
Callaway and everything else from C1’s to C6’s will be on
the field.
This year they are celebrating the introduction of the 1963
Sting Ray and that means special parking! We want to see the
oldest 1963 Sting Ray right there during Funfest! Whether
your Sting Ray is a barn find in need of some TLC or a
pristine show car, be sure to join in on the fun in
Effingham to celebrate one of the most venerated designs in
the automotive industry!
We are especially excited about the 60th Anniversary
celebration of the iconic Corvette. The Funfest Crew is
putting together a Time Capsule filled with Corvette related
memorabilia to be stashed away for the 100th anniversary in
40 years!

On Friday night, there will be a Funfest Red
Carpet Premier at the nearby Effingham
Performance Center featuring The Quest, the
awesome documentary that chronicles Chip Millers dream of
finding the 1960 class-winning #3 Corvette to restore, and
ultimately return to Le Mans in 2010 to mark the 50th
anniversary of the car’s win. YOU can be a part of the VIP
reception! Proceeds benefit the
Chip Miller Charitable
Foundation and
TREC (Trail Recreation
Effingham County)
Another favorite feature of the weekend is the Saturday
night concert. Held on the big stage under the stars, this
year they are featuring the World Classic
Rockers, with members of Journey, Santana,
Lynyrd Skynyrd, Boston and Steppenwolf. This is something
you don’t want to miss.
So, with rows of Corvettes, all kinds of activities and
plenty of great car people, along with some of the best
specials of the year on products and services from
