INDIAN UPRISING HITS ST. CHARLES AND THE NATIONALS IN COLUMBUS THIS WEEKEND
This is one of my favorite weekends of the summer. No matter where you are, there are a variety of great shows and cruises to attend, but for us, this weekend brought on a dilemma.
You see, for the past 25+ years, I have attended the Mopar Nationals, and for me, it is an absolute must do event. I host a huge display with all kinds of Mopar memorabilia, ads, sales brochures, magazines, die cast and more from my old Auto Know business, (this is the ONLY really large display we still do!) and on Saturday we host the annual Nationals Model Car Contest. It seems like each year is better than the last, and I get a chance to spread the word about MCACN to lots of past and future participants. Another cool thing is that I get to talk about MCACN to all kinds of people that have read about us in one of the magazines, or heard about us from a friend. Plenty of participants bring their friends over to meet me throughout the weekend, and I always recruit some truly outstanding cars and vendors. For me, this is one of the best shows of the year. With over 2,000 cars, non stop drag racing, a huge swap meet, the manufacturers midway and great cruising at night, it really doesn’t get any better! Our spot is right on the end of the midway, Spaces Zero 3-4, so you cant miss us; look for the MCACN banner! Set up right behind us is our MCACN 2014 Featured Artist David Snyder, and you will also find the Finer Details crew on hand along with Magnum Restorations, Apex Autosports and American Muscle Car Restorations, Inc. showing off their latest restos. So what is the dilemma? Well, another favorite show of the season is the huge Indian Uprising in St. Charles, Illinois. This is another event that gets better every year, we are one of the Official Sponsors, and it is pretty much in the backyard of the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show. With two big Pontiac events taking place at the same time over the past few years, the Cruisin’ Tigers decided it was time to move the Indian Uprising back a week so that people could attend both shows, so they now have a new date, which is this weekend, August 9-10. So that means we will divide and conquer this weekend, with part of the MCACN crew heading to St. Charles, along with Jeff and JoHanna Stolowski, founders of the Great American Muscle Car Giveaway. Yep...they will have the gorgeous fully restored 1970 Olds Cutlass Pace Car that you may win on display at the Indian Uprising. You can check it out and buy your tickets for the car that will be raffled to help out some great children’s charities, with the winner announced right at the MCACN show! If you are heading to St. Charles, be sure to stop by to get the latest scoop on the MCACN show.
We will be accepting applications for cars and vendors, so don’t miss out, as we are filling faster than ever! Oh...and don’t forget; last year the Cruising Tigers added their all makes cruise-in for Saturday, which was a huge success and a lot of fun. The parking lot party is also a lot of fun, so c’mon out and enjoy great cars and cool people http://www.cruisintigers.com/indian-uprising.html for all the information.
