HEADING TO CONCOURS d’ELEGANCE OF AMERICA AT ST. JOHN THIS SUNDAY!
I am very proud to be affiliated with the
America at St. John, (formerly known as The Meadowbrook Concours) in the Detroit area. This event is one of the
world’s most prestigious Concours events in the world, and I
am part of Vehicle Selection Committee. Last year I joined
the team and put together a group of all convertibles, with
nearly all of the invitees being past MCACN participants.

The lineup was absolutely awesome, and I am proud to say Dana will be showing this very car in the
Z/28 Invitational display this year at MCACN.

This year, I am coordinating several categories, including a Muscle Car group with all Dealer-built Super cars, the American Postwar 1960-1970 group and a gathering of some of the finest 1963 Corvette Stingrays ever assembled in one place. Again, I called upon the MCACN faithful who responded with excitement, and all three categories have cars and people who have participated in our past shows! Thanks go out to each and every one of you. Owners are coming in from Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois and of course, Michigan andI am confident that these categories will all be well received. The Muscle Car group brings to the Concours something that has never been seen on these manicured grounds, while the American Postwar 1960-1970 group tells a real story with an emphasis on the Personal Luxury cars of this era. Over in the Corvette area, you will see several very significant vintage race cars and two “matched pairs” of stockers including a very fresh Z06. These three categories alone are worth the price of admission, but of course, the other categories run the gamut from a special group of electric cars dating back to the mid 1800’s to various Exotics and of course, the most beautiful full classics including numerous Bugatti’s, Rolls Royces, Auburns and so much more. Also new this year is a group of “Bobber’ motorcycles. Oh...did I mention that the 1969 Hurst/Olds convertible that was unveiled at MCACN 2012 will also be on hand in a very special display, complete with the 8 foot tall Golden Shifter?

Automotive Art enthusiasts will love his representation of the Berger Dealership during the 60's Muscle Car Era
The MCACN Crew will have a display booth in the midway promoting the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show, that will be taking place November 23-24. We hope to see you there, as the weather forecast is absolutely perfect, (sunny and in the 70’s) and the Inn at St. John is absolutely gorgeous and a great place to take pictures and see some of the rarest and most prestigious automobiles in the world. Please see www.concoursusa.org for directions and information.
If you are closer to the west coast, plan on heading over to Santa Monica for Mecum's Celebrity Items Auction. This is something a little bit different for Dana and his crew, and you can count on it being a whole lot of fun. There are some incredible offerings, and many are certainly rarely, (if ever) offered!
If you are closer to Wisconsin, head on over to the All American Modern Muscle Car Show taking place Saturday, July 27th, 2013 - 4 pm until 9 pm at Georgie Porgies Restaurant (Kohl’s Dept Store Parking Lot) at Hwy 20 and Hwy 31 – Racine, WI. This specialty show is for American Muscle Cars, 2005 to present.

Well, this is another weekend that offers car related activities in nearly every corner of the map. Get out there and enjoy the cars, and most importantly, the people that make this hobby so great. Next week we head over to St. Charles, Illinois for the big Indian Uprising show put on by our friends the Cruisin’ Tigers. I will be hosting a seminar on Sunday along with our Day 2 Judging Supervisor, Dru Diesner. We will be talking about one of the fastest growing area’s of the MCACN show and the muscle car hobby in general, which is real Day 2 cars and how we do Day 2 Concours judging and the difference between our Day 2 and our StreetStock/Modified judging. More on this event next week!
