2014 MCACN L89 Invitational Display Presented by Carlisle Events
In addition to being the Official Sponsor of the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals L89 Invitational display this year, our friends from Carlisle Events are celebrating 40 years of producing some of the coolest and most fun automotive events of them all. This weekend they are geared up and ready for the big ALL GM NATIONALS. If you are a Buick, Oldsmobile, Chevy, Pontiac or even Cadillac enthusiast or if you just love cool cars and great people, you need to be there! Literally thousands of the Generals creations will be hitting the Carlisle Fairgrounds, and as always, they will also host a HUGE, (and I do mean Huge!) swap meet too. If you need it, it is likely to be there. In addition to row after row of GM cars of all generations, you’ll find plenty of national vendors and suppliers in the midway displays. Over in the Building Y, look for our good friend and MCACN 2014 Featured Artist David Snyder. I understand he has some new offerings that you really need to see, and while you are there, congratulate him on the big sale of his awesome custom one-off Gibson Les Paul guitar, sold at the Indy Mecum Auction sale, with all of the proceeds going directly to the Curing Kids Cancer program!
I also want to make sure you know about my favorite part of the GM Nationals, over in (and around) Building G, (the vintage dealer building, just outside of the gates). The “Solid Lifter Showroom” featuring the Class of ‘69, returns for the sixth year. Our good friend and MCACN Supporter Brian Henderson and the gang are once again coordinating this show within a show, and believe me, you don’t want to miss it! You’ll see several MCACN alumnus in there, and each and every car is an absolute must see. Almost like a “mini” MCACN! Along with the cars, you will find some awesome vintage memorabilia and as always, you never know who will show up from “back in the day” to share stories and memories. Being in the backyard of Yenko Chevrolet, you know there are bound to be plenty of Yenko stories and I can assure you, you will be blown away by the cars that are attending this year! Also this weekend...
Super Car Reunion returns to the Gateway Raceway near St. Louis.
SPECIAL THANKS; I want to say THANKS to everyone who purchased raffle tickets for the Great American Muscle Car Giveaway 1970 Olds Cutlass Indy Pace Car last weekend at the final Power Tour stop at Chula Vista Resort in the Wisconsin Dells, and also at the Oldsmobile Homecoming. And don’t forget, you can purchase tickets right now if you cant make it to one of the events the GAMCG team is attending. This is the car that will be at the MCACN show, and we will be announcing the winner on Sunday, November 23 right at our show. YOU may be driving home in this car, so help us support some fine Children’s Charities. Thanks and congrats go out to Jeff and JoHanna Stolowski for making this program a reality for the 2nd year!
I would also like to thank everyone that joined me at the EyesOn Design show on Fathers Day. We had an awesome day with perfect weather, and I am proud to say we hosted nearly 20 past MCACN participants from several states, including the Fouranado, unveiled at MCACN that joined us from Scottsdale, AZ. Please make a point of joining us next year at the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan for this outstanding show, which is a benefit for the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology.
NATIONAL MEDIA COVERAGE; National media coverage continues, and this time we’re making even more Mopar history! First off, Cliff Gromer, Editor of Mopar Action magazine, joined us for the very first time last November. Being Mopar specific, it took me a while to convince Cliff that we had enough to justify having him join us. Well...to quote the cover; “Mind Blowing Musclecar Nats” and inside “The Muscle Car and Corvette Nats hosts such a spectacular display of classic muscle, you have to pinch yourself to make sure its real.” Well...thanks Mopar Action! The feature has FIVE full pages of color photos, so if you don’t have this issue already, go find it, or better yet, sign up for a subscription to show your support.
But wait, we’re not done yet! Over on the other side of the rack, you will find yet another cover of Mopar Collectors Guide magazine that was shot at the MCACN show by Al Rogers/Freeze Frame Image, LLC. That makes the total for covers that Al shot at MCACN that have been published at SEVEN, and again, we’re not even close to done yet! Next month, you will find yet another MCG cover shot at the MCACN show featuring a very cool and very black Plymouth Arrow and a very lovely young lady, who happens to be the daughter of a very prominent restorer that participates in the MCACN show with a different car, (or cars) every year! You’ll find that issue online 7-1 or on your newsstand 7-25. If you think you have what it takes to be a cover girl, click here to enter the contest for 2014.
FYI--Al Rogers will be doing a cover shoot for another magazine right at our show this year! Details TBA.
NEXT WEEKEND; ALL KINDS OF STUFF TO DO; Bloomington Gold in Champagne, Illinois, the Chicagoaland Mustang and Shelby Show at The Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, Illinois, and the big Sloan Museum Auto Fair in Flint, Michigan are all must do events!

Oh..and did I mention my own personal assistant Andrew Boekelo aka Boo-key and
Danielle are getting married next Saturday? Congrats!!
REGISTRATION IS OPEN...AND WE ARE FILLING FAST! Applications are now being processed for cars and automotive (only) vendors. Some categories are already full, so even though it may seem early, I highly recommend signing up now and also booking your rooms. Another reason to sign up now is that I am currently writing feature stories for our 2014 full color MCACN magazine, and only cars that are officially registered will be included. What that means is, if you told me you’re coming, but you have not submitted an official application that was processed and confirmed, you won't be in the magazine..or in the show! To fill out an application online for your car, click here; To register your business, click here;
THANKS to all for your continued support and remember to help us spread the word and
to “like” us on our Facebook page!
