Sneak Peek 2012 Show*

SEVEN CITIES IN SEVEN DAYS; SPREADING THE WORD FOR MCACN!
As many of you know, the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals team believes in “Grass Roots Marketing”and is constantly out there spreading the word and searching for cars and vendors. National print ads, radio spots and other advertising is great, but nothing is better then talking about the MCACN show in person! That is why we are hitting the highway and joining in the fun for the annual Hot Rod Power Tour. Leaving from my neighborhood outside of Detroit, we will then hit Muskegon, MI on Sunday, June 3, Champaign, IL. on Monday, Madison, IL on Tuesday, (where MCACN sponsor Mid America Motorworks will be graciously hosting a stop for Power Tour Participants at their awesome corporate headquarters in Effingham, IL.) to Miami, OK on Wednesday, Stillwater, OK on Thursday and then on to the final stop in Arlington, TX on Friday. All told, we will be racking up over 3,000 miles in my AMC!
MCACN Member and www.Yenko.net supercars website owner Charley Lillard will be on the tour with his Mark Stielow built Pro Touring ‘69 Camaro, while Denny Barker, Hi-Performance Manager for Nickey Chicago, will be racking up the miles in his brand new 2012 Stage II 600+ hp Nickey Super Camaro! Nickey Chicago CEO and MCACN Member Stefano Bimbi will be joining in the fun with yet another Nickey Super Camaro, and speaking of MCACN sponsor Nickey Chicago, they will also have a booth at the Champaign, IL. stop. Be sure to stop by and see the latest and say hello to Stefano and Denny in their booth, and meet Nickey Chicago head fabricator John Tinberg.
Along with the MCACN Members, we know of some other friends of MCACN that will be taking part in the festivities. Our good friend Ryan Brutt, aka the Automotive Archeologist, will be doing the long haul and he has also organized the “Mopowered Tour” along with Rob Wolf of Mopar Collectors Guide magazine. This “tour within a tour” is for any Mopar enthusiast. Ryan has some great stops that aren’t on the regular tour agenda, so be sure to check that out. I am sure Ryan will be on the prowl for more “barn-finds” while on the tour, as he is working with Adam Tuckman on our “Found As-is/Hidden Gems” showcase for the 2012 MCACN show, and he also maintains a blog on his ongoing search for the elusive “off the radar” cars. Speaking of our special displays, we also hear that Michelle and Craig Dozeman, who are handling our “Bee Hive” Super Bee invitational, will be in Muskegon with their sweet Cuda. If you see a gorgeous white Cuda with a Plum Crazy billboard stripe on it, be sure to meet them, as they are some of the most enthusiastic MCACN advocates out there! And if you own a Super Bee, you really need to talk to Michelle. Also look for “Bullet” aka Mark Black, with his chop-top 1st gen Monte Carlo!
If you are planning on being a part of the 2012 Hot Rod Power Tour, please let us know. You can e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 586-549-5291. Better yet, chase me down as my car is pretty easy to spot! (see photo). Catch up with me while on the tour, and I’ll hook you up with a FREE MCACN hat, (if you promise to help us spread the word by wearing it!) While supplies last.
If you can’t be a part of the Power Tour, please consider joining our friends Sue and Opie Willis for an outstanding event in the Cincinnati area on Sunday, June 10. The 35th Annual Ault Park Concours d’Elegance is one of the finest events in the country. This event is a benefit for the Children’s Arthritus Foundation and they are featuring “A Century of American Power.” This classy event has cars from the brass era on up to modern muscle cars..a definite “must do” event in a beautiful setting. Also, please take a look at the cool raffle for the “The Ultimate L.A. Car Experience.” Less than 100 tickets are left and believe me, you want to win this one!
Happy and Safe Travels to you...hope to see you on the road!
