Sneak Peek 2014 MCACN*
BUICK ENTRIES COMING IN STRONGER THAN EVER FOR MCACN VI
Each year, we strive to present a well balanced show for our spectators and participants, with no specific bias toward any particular make. Of course, we always receive a lot of PRIME Chevrolet entries, and our Chevy classes are always the first to fill, especially for 1st generation Camaro’s and 66-70 Chevelle’s. Since we have strict quota’s not only for model years, but for particular makes and models, it is always nice to see an increase in entries for some of the lesser seen cars. With that being said, we are pleased to announce we are seeing a significant increase in Buick entries this year!
1970 GSX Unrestored Original, William Sales, GSX Invitational Display
With our special Buick GSX Invitational display, we are working with Dr. Ajesh Parikh who promises an outstanding gathering of the country’s finest 1970-72 GSX’s. Yes...they did produce the GSX for the years 1970, 71 and 72, which many don’t know! In the inaugural year, they offered just two colors; Saturn Yellow and Apollo White and just 678 were produced. We have fine examples of both restored and original 70’s confirmed in both colors. In 1971 and ‘72, the GSX became an option package for GS models and the color palate was expanded with six new colors. In 1971, a mere 124 GSX’s were built and in ‘72, just 44, making these cars real rarities and truly sought after! Ajesh tells us he has commitments from owners of each year and nearly every color, promising that this display will be a MCACN Hot Spot! Ken Nagels 1958 Buick Limited
As I always say, we like to keep things interesting and unpredictable at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals, so I contacted our good friend Ken Nagel, who is a long time supporter of our show. Ken has an amazing collection that includes some of the absolute finest 50’s vintage convertibles and 60’s muscle cars ever shown, truly the best of the best. You may remember the gorgeous red DeSoto convertible, (featured in the new issue of Collectible Automobile) and the one-off silver ‘56 Chevy Bel Air convertible that Ken showed with us last year, or perhaps his ‘69 Olds W-30 convertible or Shelby GT-500 convertible he has shown with us previously, to name a few. This year, Ken will be showing TWO of his 50’s Buick convertibles; a show stopping 1953 Skylark and an equally impressive ‘58 Limited that has the blackest, straightest body I have ever seen. Can you imagine the amount of work it takes to get those mile long quarters that straight?
Ken Nagels 1953 Buick Skylark
On the Muscle front, we have several Stage 1’s joining us, including a beautiful 1969 4-speed convertible in our Class of ‘69 Invitational and several 1970 Stage 1 hardtops, including one with some ultra rare factory Stage 2 goodies under the hood. If you like your Buick’s modified, then the slammed yellow beast that is coming in is sure to please! Each one of these cars has never been seen at the MCACN show and every one of them is a 1st Class show stopper. If you own a Buick and would like to join us, please apply asap. We are especially hoping to find prime examples from 1964 and 1969 for our Special Anniversary displays!
VENDOR UPDATE; Same space “holds” ended April 1st and I am very pleased to say we have received same space reservations from nearly 80% of our previous vendors. If you are a previous vendor that forgot to lock in your space, send me an e-mail or give me a call at 586-549-5291 as the floor is now open for first paid vendors for the remaining Commercial A and Commercial B spaces with rates starting at just $200 for a 10 x 12’ space. We will not be holding any spaces without payment, so don’t miss out!
