Auto World 1/18 Scale Limited Edition MCACN Replica’s; Your Car May Be Next!

There are a lot of reasons to show your car at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals. For many, getting your car in one of the national magazines from being shot at the show is one of them, and with the amount of coverage we have been receiving, there are quite a few that have been published, and plenty more coming. Being a guy that still loves sitting down with a real magazine, I am always excited to see which cars are featured. Another neat thing that has happened is that quite a few of the editors and photographers use the MCACN show to find feature cars, and the list of cars that have garnered multi-page spreads continues to grow. Your car may be next!

What we want to talk about today is yet another way the MCACN team is helping to immortalize your car. Working directly with the Auto World Round 2 folks, we have a truly outstanding lineup of Limited Edition 1/18th scale die cast replica’s of actual cars that have been shown with us. What makes these replicas extra special is that they aren’t just color changes on existing cars. The Auto World people attend our show in person, with both a “hit list” that we work on together in advance, and an open mind to see what else may grab their attention. Hopefully you visited their display at our show the past two years. In 2016, we introduced the first car in the series, which is Terry Davis’ Chateau Slate ‘66 Chevelle SS. To say they nailed it would be an understatement, as they worked directly with Terry to get the details correct, right down to the rare full wheel-covers. Needless to say, it was a hit. Following up on that, we then saw fine replica’s of Larry Grief’s green on green ‘70 Z/28, with the uncommon full vinyl top, Chuck Ungurean’s Black ‘67 L/88 Corvette roadster with the blue stinger, Tim Wellborn’s factory sunroof equipped triple black 440 powered Charger R/T and of course, Mike Hill’s wild Barn Find Hemi Superbird that you saw in the Auto World display in November. Have you seen that paint job? WoW! Next up is the first Pontiac in the series, with Chris MacAllister’s ‘73 Brewster Green Super Duty Trans Am. Could it get any better? Well just keeps getting better!

Auto World Super Bird

These cars are not only well researched replica’s of actual cars from the MCACN show floor, they also feature special packaging. The box art features the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals logos and on the back you will find actual photos of the cars taken right at the show. There is a brief history that not only tells about the car, but the owners too. Like I said...just keeps getting better!

So you’ve heard about some of the cars that are available now, but would you like to hear what else is in the works? How about a real Day2 replica of the awesome LS6 powered Harrell modified Monte Carlo that you saw in our Day 2 Invitational, or Paul Vitales’s black over red 1967 427 Impala SS that we hosted in our Class of ‘67 Invitational last November? Check-Check! Well, Buick fan’s will love the replica of Jason Line’s ‘70 G.S. convertible that he unveiled in November, Mike Sobotka’s Platinum Mist Silver ‘71 GSX and Melanie Mausers’ ’70 G.S. And for those anxious for more Mopar’s, look forward to seeing the Curious Yellow Duster 340 that Mike Mancini showed in the AMCRI booth and another from the Wellborn Muscle Car Museum; the 426 Hemi sunroof equipped ‘71 Charger R/T, loaded with options. But then if you prefer earlier B-Bodies, watch for Mike Belcarz Platinum Silver 426 Hemi Coronet R/T. And then we have the sweet In Violet 4-speed, 383 ‘71 Satellite Sebring Plus, both seen in our Mopar Alley last November. And we have not forgotten our Blue Oval fans, as the Pinnacle Award winning Black Jade ‘69 Boss 429 shown by Russell Ruff is also in the works. (be sure to check out that spoiler, another first for the die-cast world). Whew! And there will be many more to come!

Auto World Corvette 427

Congrats and a big Thanks go out to all of you who have agreed to participate. If you would like to have your car considered, first is to be a participant in the MCACN show. I can tell you that with the upcoming Class of 1968 Invitational display and the 50th Anniversary we are hoping to find the perfect ‘68 Roadrunner and Super Bee, a Cobra Jet Mustang and maybe even a GT/CS. And speaking of anniversaries, wouldn’t it be neat to see some 1973 performance models in this series? Hmmm...

If you would like to purchase these cars, don’t hesitate, as there are only 1,002 of each model being produced, making them true Limited Edition collectibles. You can purchase them from our good friends and long time MCACN vendors Model Empire, (ask for Alex) and of course Jim Thoren at Supercar Collectibles And to stay in touch with upcoming MCACN and other Limited Edition replicas, sign up to receive the Auto World/Round 2 e-mails at their website,

Oh...and another thing I’d like to mention. If you are a collector of 1/64th scale die cast cars, look for our first with a two-pack featuring Mike Hill’s Barn Find Superbird along with a stock B5 Blue Superbird in the new Limited Edition Johnny Lightning set. These should be hitting the shelves any day now. And yes, the rumors about a Limited Edition Johnny Lightning 10th Anniversary MCACN Event Car are also true. More on those later!

As always, we would like to say thanks for the continued support. We are extremely excited about celebrating our Tenth Anniversary this year when we return to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, (suburban Chicago) Illinois, just minutes from Chicago’s O’Hare Airport. We will again fill nearly 400,000 square feet of all indoor exhibit space with well over 500 cars and 200+ automotive related only vendor spots. The show will take place Saturday, November 17, from 9 am – 8 pm and Sunday, November 18, from 9 am – 5 pm.
