Official Transporter of MCACN
Sneak Peek 2014 MCACN*
INCREDIBLE LINEUP FOR 2014 MUSCLE CAR AND CORVETTE NATIONALS UNVEILINGS
One of the most popular and most fun features of the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show is our “Premier Unveilings.” We are truly honored that some of the finest and rarest Muscle Cars and Corvettes, their owners and their restorers choose the MCACN show to debut their latest resto’s. Since our inception in 2009, we have played host to a long list of one-off and many show stopping cars from Ford, Plymouth, Chevy, Pontiac and Oldsmobiles for our Unveilings. Who could forget the incredible rotating display that Fred Mandrick created just for our show last year, with the one-off “Four-A-Nado” Olds 442 that was built for George Hurst? And what a blast we had when Charley Hutton and Kaliah pulled the cover off of the Cherokee Camaro from The Brothers Collection last year! Corvette fans were blown away by Dan McMichael’s outrageous Baldwin-Motion Maco Shark when Joel “Mr. Motion” Rosen and Marty Schorr uncovered it a few years back. And what about the cool beach scene featuring “The Only One” 1968 Shelby GT-500 convertible shown by Samantha Styles. And speaking of Oldsmobiles, we were truly honored to be able to pull the cover off of the beautiful 1969 Hurst/Olds Convertible from The Brothers Collection, complete with lovely Linda Vaughan perched up on the rear platform, hanging on to the 6 foot tall Hurst shifter! And that is just a sampling of what we have unveiled at MCACN over the past few years. Can it get any better? Well, not sure if it is better, but I promise that 2014 will be just as good and most importantly, just as FUN!
The list of Premier Unveilings is very exciting this year with a nice variety of makes and models. Already confirmed is a very special 1969 Pontiac Trans Am, currently being restored by Scott Tieman and the Supercar Specialties crew in Michigan. What makes this one special is that it is the Prototype for the Trans Am production car. The first thing you notice is that it is Silver, not the traditional cameo white that we are used to seeing on ‘69 T/A’s. And that is just the beginning of the long list of one-off and special features. Our thanks go out to owner Curt Richards who has agreed to help us “raise the bar” once again! Oh...and by the way; the picture above is before the restoration, as it has since been completely stripped to the bare shell and is now undergoing a full-on rotisserie resto!
MOPAR fans will certainly be blown away when we pull the wraps off the Limelight Green, (aka SubLime!) 426 Hemi 4-speed Superbird. The owner, who is from Oklahoma, is having the car restored as we speak by Magnum Restorations in Illinois. I spoke to Mark Sekula, owner of Magnum last week, and he told me they are right on schedule. The car has been painted and the assembly process is underway now. And to keep things interesting, we also have another Limelight Hemi 4-speed Superbird in the show that will be over in our HEMI Anniversary display. That one is an unrestored original 11,000 mile car, so we are going to have a lot of fun comparing these two!
If you are a Chevy fan, we are going to present our very first “Twin” unveiling. You see, our good friend Gary Riley and his team at Level One Restorations in Colorado are busy working on both the #1 and the #2 1969 Camaro Indianapolis 500 Official Pace Cars! Now...these are not Pace Car replica’s, but the real-deal, front of the pack Pace Cars that led the race back in 1969! By the way; one of the owners is joining us from California, while the other is joining us from Newfoundland!
So...you are a Ford fan? Not to worry, as we have something really special for you too. Many of you know I love big-body/big block 4-speed cars, right? Well, over in our Class of ‘64 Invitational display, we will present not one, not even two, but a whole row of them. And to make things even more interesting, we will be unwrapping for the very first time a 427 4-speed R-Code Galaxie convertible coming in from Minnesota that I can assure you, will blow you away.
We have another Pontiac on the unveiling agenda. This is yet another from The Brothers Collection. Any 1969 Ram Air IV Firebird is a rarity. Add in the fact that this one is a convertible, and you really have something. Now, what if I told you it is Gold with a Green interior? I can assure you, there weren’t many Firebirds of any drivetrain built this way, let alone with a RA IV under the hood! See it uncovered after an extensive restoration Saturday morning, November 22 at MCACN!
If you own a significant example of American Muscle, (steel or fiberglass!) and it is unlike any of the above, is undergoing a full restoration now and you would like to show it for the very first time at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals, we would like to hear about it. Each year over 100 of our 550+ cars are shown for the very first time, and we choose several of the most unique for our Premier Unveilings. I will accept one or possibly two more for our 2014 show, which takes place November 22-23. For consideration, please send information, pictures, history and documentation to email@example.com
