Sneak Peek 2012 Show
Barn Find Hurst Hemi Dart
DO YOU OWN OR KNOW OF A RARE CORVETTE OR MUSCLE CAR THAT IS OFF THE RADAR?
The MCACN crew is dedicated to making sure we present an interesting and unpredictable show. If you were with us us last year, you were probably a bit surprised to be greeted in the lobby by a 1948 Tucker! Yes....that one was indeed mighty shiny, but once you ventured into the show, you surely saw a few that were, well....not so shiny!
There has never been a show like ours and we intend to keep it that way, so with that being said, we are putting the call out for special “Off the Radar” cars. Everyone knows that “barn finds” are hot and we all dream of finding one. Rumors of that long forgotten L88 Corvette, Hemi (insert your preference here) or the Cobra that somehow isn’t in the registry are things that dreams are made of. Since most shows frown on showcasing cars that may not be pretty, we are here to put the call out for some! If you own a significant Muscle Car or Corvette that has been hidden away for whatever reason, we are extending the invitation to you to join us. The key here is that it must be something special, like the Larry Shinoda Boss 302, the Baldwin-Motion Can Am Spyder, the Gibb COPO Nova Racer or the LS6 Chevelle that hadn’t seen the light of day for many years that we had at the MCACN show in 2011. No...we don’t want to see your clapped out 350 Nova, your clone of a (whatever it may be) or the ‘68 4-door Galaxie that Gramps parked back in the 70’s. Perhaps you stashed a Yenko or Nickey car a few years ago, hoping to dive into the restoration, and somehow or another, life came along and 20 or more years have past. You know the story!
We have teamed up with Ryan “The Automotive Archaeologist” Brutt and Adam Tuckman, owner of the beautiful white Phase III Baldwin-Motion Corvette shown in 2010 and the freshly restored 1970 Phase III Baldwin-Motion Chevelle shown last year, (and on the cover of the latest issue of Muscle Car Review magazine). These guys live for the hunt! So the challenge is on; bring us your long packed away, your hidden, your off the radar rare Muscle Car, Corvette or Super Car, even if it is incomplete or not so pretty. You know we have the enthusiasts who will not only want to see it, but will embrace it and love seeing it. Not only that, but you may also get the chance to learn more about your car from someone you haven’t met yet that knows about your car, and may even have some vintage photos! Believe me...it happens at MCACN every year! Oh yeah...if it does happen to be pretty, that of course is fine too!
I am happy to say we already have some prime “Off the Radar” cars signed up, including the ever elusive REAL V-code 1972 440-6 barrel Roadrunner/GTX, (still wearing its original paint with a factory sunroof!), one of the original Hurst Hemi Darts (see Sneak Preview car above) that I can assure you, you haven’t see for a loooong time, and an ultra rare Chevrolet Supercar that we will tell you more about later.
Registration is now open through our website for both cars and vendors. If you have a car that you think would be a candidate for any of our special Invitational or Showcase displays, or a cool example of American Muscle, please let us know asap, so we can spread the word. Our show is owned and run by enthusiasts for enthusiasts and anyone else who loves massive American horsepower. Please join us November 17-18, 2012 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, (greater Chicago), Illinois for our 4th annual all indoor gathering of the best of the best and the rarest of the rare.
