STRIPPED DOWN MAXIMUM MUSCLE: THE MCACN POST SEDAN SHOWCASE
Many of the most desirable examples of American Muscle are loaded with options. In many cases, the more boxes that were checked on the original order sheet, the more sought after the car is today. This is not, however, always the case. You see, when Muscle Cars were first being offered back in the day, the idea was to have the biggest, most powerful engine in the lightest, most basic and affordable car. When the GTO came out, the first examples weren’t about flashy stripes and bucket seats, and the Plymouth Roadrunner was the epitome of bargain basement muscle wrapped in taxi cab trim. Bench seats, steel wheels and minimal trim were the order of the day. In fact, the best examples were the basic Post Body two door sedans, often with rubber mats and in the case of the Supercharged Studebakers of 1963, just a single sun visor!
This year at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals, we are proud to present a group of an even dozen of these made to go automobiles in our Post Sedan Showcase. Ryan Weaver, who joins us from Canada, worked directly with Dan Vasic last year to put together our fantastic L89 Invitational display. To say that one was a hit is an understatement! Ryan, along with his Dad, and Dan knocked it out of the park with the absolute finest examples of factory L89 Chevelles, Camaro’s and even the 1967 Ed Cole COPO L89 and a ‘69 L89 Corvette. Well...we are pleased to announce that Ryan and Dan are back at it with something totally different for the 2015 edition of the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show.

What you will see are twelve of the baddest stripped down high horsepower Post-body sedans ever to grace the MCACN show floor. Each featured car will be a different brand, assuring that this one will be a crowd pleaser. You will be able to compare what each of the manufacturers had to offer to the guy (or gal!) that wanted to strike fear in anyone who would cross their path. A prime example is shown as our Sneak Peek Car. Additional confirmed cars include a supercharged Studebaker Standard, (which by the way, precedes the aforementioned GTO intermediate body/big engine formula by a full year!), a big block, big body Ford 300, a gorgeous ‘65 Chevelle 300 that is being finished as this is being written, a Pontiac T-37 with a 455 HO under the hood, a W-31 Olds Ram Rod and of course, several Mopars that will blow you away. Make a point of checking these cars out, and if you happen to own a Canadian Post-body high horsepower Canso or Beaumont, we would love to hear from you!
Lots of Cubic Inches + Light Weight Body = MAXIMUM FUN!
For many of us, the weather is finally breaking, which means it is time to crack open the garage. Whether it is two-wheeled or four wheeled doesn’t matter when you’ve been locked up with mounds of snow and ice all around! If you are fortunate enough to have a longer season and can use your toys year round, well let me tell you...I am jealous!
