THE FINER DETAILS GEARING UP FOR OPEN HOUSE AT THEIR NEW HOME
Anyone who has been to the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show knows there is always some freshly restored muscle right up front in MCACN Official Sponsor The Finer Details display. Over the past few years, Ken Mosier and his team have shown a wide variety of gorgeous Mopars and more, including several Hemi E-bodies, some immaculate B-bodies and several T/A’s and AAR’s to name a few. Ken has also had his clients cars in various area’s of our show including the Class of 1970 and 1971, the Mr. Norm’s 50th Anniversary display and others. If there ever was someone devoted to his craft, Ken is that guy!
The big news from The Finer Details is their new home in Danville, Indiana. With everything now under one roof and 30,000 square feet of space, they have enough room not only for their full service restoration shop, but also, being a former Pontiac dealership, they have a sweet indoor showroom, which is chock full of cars offered for sale. With that being said, Ken and the crew would like to invite YOU to their “Grand Opening” Party this Friday, February 28 from 6 pm – 9 pm. This is your chance to check out the new home and maybe even get a sneak peek at what they are working on for the 2014 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show when we return to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, (greater Chicago), Illinois, November 22-23. In addition to seeing plenty of cars in various stages of restoration, some premium muscle already restored and some cool cars for sale, you’ll get to hear some great live music from The Elect, and eat some good old fashion Bar-B-Q! Great cars, great music, great food and great people; what could be better than that? For more information on The Finer Details and directions, go to
www.thefinerdetails-1.com and while you’re online, be sure to check out their all new website!
(Great job, Allie!)
Speaking of the Indianapolis area, the place to be this weekend is the 19th Annual Chrysler Performance Trade Show and Swap Meet at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. You’ll find all kinds of parts and more including reps from some of the major manufacturers. This one is really neat, being a combination of a swap meet and a trade show, and they pack several big rooms and well over 100,000 square feet with all kinds of stuff. They are open Saturday, March 1st and Sunday, March 2nd, so plan on being there! For more information, go to http://www.indyheads.com/show2014.html
Invitational Displays Update; Response to the announcement of our Invitational and Special displays has been absolutely amazing. If anyone is worried about us not maintaining our reputation as being the show not to miss, rest assured this will be another one for the record books! The Class of 1964 and our Hemi 50th Anniversary displays have really taken off, and our Color My World group is going to have some eye popping examples! The Cobra Jet Ford/Mercury group, which will play host to our first “Cathouse” featuring the rarest Topless Cougars, (get your mind out of the gutter! lol) is also taking shape. And then we have our Plastic Fantastic and Barn Find/Hidden Gem displays; expect the unexpected!
The Corvette Central Triple Diamond display and competition is also kicking into high gear with C1, C2 and C3 entries already in, including a gorgeous ‘69 L/88 that has never been in our show! Vintage is also filling up at a record rate with several W-30 Oldsmobiles, a ‘69 Camaro and a Pace Car Corvette. For a full rundown on all of our 2014 Invitational and Special displays, click here, and remember, if you have a documented real-deal Muscle Car or Corvette that fits our criteria for any of these special displays and you want to be a part of our show, e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org with pictures and specs. Reserved only for the “best of the best” and the “rarest of the rare”, so if it isn’t real, don’t bother asking!
Among the cars on my hit list that I am especially looking for; Ford and Mercury products in Grabber/Competition colors, 1964 Buick Wildcats and Riviera’s and Chevy 409’s, REAL 60’s and 70’s race cars of all types, AMC’s and Studebakers, the absolute best GTO’s and performance model Mustangs, and as always, the really off the wall and unexpected cars that are rarely if ever seen. If you own any of these and would like to be a part of history in the making, let me know!
Registration is now open for cars and automotive (only) vendors. We sent out our previous vendor letters last week, so if you want to lock in your same space, please respond ASAP. Demand for commercial space has increased every year and every year we have sold out earlier. This year, based on the response we are already getting, we anticipate selling out even faster in all area’s...and its only February!
Thanks go out to each and every one of you for your continued support. This includes not only our participants and sponsors, but all of our spectators too. Please be sure to tell your friends or better yet...bring them along!
Chicagoland Mopar Swap Update; As you know the weather conditions forced the Chicagoland Mopar Connection to cancel their annual February swap meet in Elmhurst. I am happy to announce the CMC has re-scheduled the swap for Sunday, March 23rd at the usual location. Go to www.chicagolandmopar.com for directions, hours and information, and we will see you there.
