MCACN AND NICKEY HIT RP EXPO,
MECUM OFFERS INCREDIBLE COLLECTION THIS WEEKEND
This
is going to be another great weekend for car freaks. Surely by now
everyone knows that Danica will be leading the pack in Daytona on Sunday,
but there is some other great stuff going on this weekend! For the
MCACN crew and the
Nickey
Chicago crew, we’ll be heading over to the expanded
Race and
Performance Expo in St. Charles, Illinois.
www.rpexpo.com. This year, the show will
open Friday, February 22 at 4:00 pm, and it is now “4 shows in 1”
and will occupy three different area’s of the Pheasant Run Resort
and the DuPage Expo Center. You’ll be able to check out row after row of
suppliers and manufacturers and rub elbows with some of the movers and
shakers of the performance industry. We will be set up in the all new
Car Builders Showcase area in the St. Charles
Ballroom, right next to MCACN Sponsor Nickey
Chicago. We’ll have our big TV set up with all kinds of pics from
past shows along with V8TV coverage from Kevin Oeste and
his team. Be sure to stop by so we can tell you what we have in store for
you for 2013...we will again “raise the bar” with some great cars, special
displays and the absolute best sponsors and vendors. You will also enjoy
seeing what Nickey Chicago is doing to make the new
Camaro ZL1’s even better than they are already, which is nothing short of
mind blowing! We will have some super special close-out deals
on past MCACN event t-shirts and sweat shirts too. When they are gone
they’re gone, so snatch ‘em up now! Visa/MC/Discover will be accepted
at the show.
We will be accepting applications for
cars and vendors at the RP Expo, and if you can’t make
it, registration is now open through our
website.
(Visa/MC/Discover accepted at the show and online). Each year, we fill up
and sell out quicker, and this year we are out of the gate at a record
pace. With all of the outstanding national magazine coverage we have been
getting, inquiries and entries are coming in at a record rate, so don’t be
left out...sign up now! Early registration allows us to get the word out
about what we will have in the show, and we use only
officially registered entries in our promotional efforts, which
includes our national print ads, facebook coverage, web coverage,
billboards and our big Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals magazine. If you
would like to get your car some recognition, now is the time!
Speaking of national magazine
recognition, the features keep coming in. We recently received our March
Muscle Car
Review magazine and found outstanding coverage, (and
we made it into Editor Drew Hardin’s editorial too!) and the most recent
Chrysler Power magazine has cool coverage too. We
truly appreciate the magazines who help us spread the word. Getting the
“official thumbs up” from those in the know is always very rewarding for
the entire MCACN team, who work hard all year long to put together a
world-class national event that is truly like no other. To see ALL of the
magazine features we know of to date, check out

Over in the “warmer” part of
the country, MCACN Title Sponsor, The
Mecum
Auctions crew will be offering the absolutely
incredible Verde Classics Museum Collection in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Mecum is known for “Muscle Cars and More” and this high quality
collection is the epitome of exactly that. Fran and Ron Greene will be
offering over 80 cars and more than 1,000 pieces of “road art” and
memorabilia, all at No Reserve. This collection consists of some prime
muscle cars, plenty of 50’s and 60’s convertibles and hardtops, some
national award winning cars and some gorgeous Corvettes. There are also
some other interesting vehicles including several Aston Martins, a
Delorean, a Dodge ‘Lil Red Express truck and even some cool vintage
scooters. And then there is the memorabilia....Whew! Check out
www.mecum.com and if you can’t
make it to the auction, register to bid and/or watch online through the
cool Mecum Infonet system
Another one to note over in St.
Charles, Illinois is the annual Buick/Olds/Pontiac/Cadillac swap
meet on Sunday, February 24th. Held at the Kane County
fairgrounds, it is a mere 5-10 minute ride from the RP Expo. Although we
won’t be set up there, I do plan on hitting this swap Sunday morning. I am
looking for real documented 1963 and 1973 Pontiac Super Duty cars
for a very special display along with other prime BOP muscle, so if you
own or know of something, (like the one featured above!), please look me
up. To date we have several fantastic restored and original ‘73 SD 455
Trans Ams signed up along with several 63’s. It is always a treat to see a
real Super Duty up close, whether ‘63 or ‘73, so help us make this one
another show stopper!
www.bopcswap.com for all the information
on the swap.
As always, we welcome your
feedback and suggestions. You can reach me via e-mail at
bashton426@gmail.com
or call 586-549-5291. Hope
to see many old friends this weekend, and make some new ones!
