Sneak Peek 2012 Show
1970 Hemi Challenger R/T The Styles Collection 2012 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals MCACN TEAM ANNOUNCES 2012 INVITATIONAL AND SPECIAL DISPLAYS
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Although we just made it through the holidays, planning for the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals
never stops. To continue to “raise the bar,” we work on the show all year
round and we will continue to do that for many years to come. Today we would
like to announce some of our 2012 Special and Invitational displays;
AERO WARRIORS
![]()
The Nascar Aero Wars were in full swing in the late 60’s/early 70’s and Ford,
Dodge, Mercury and Plymouth took things to a new level. Flush glass, extended
noses and outrageous wings became the norm. See Talledega’s, Daytona’s,
Cyclone Spoilers, Superbirds and Charger 500’s in this Invitational display,
coordinated by Jason Thompson and Doug Schellinger. Both street and race cars
will be featured.

CLASS OF 1972 40th ANNIVERSARY DISPLAY
Yes, there were still a few true Muscle Cars offered in ‘72! You could order
up a Buick GS with a 455, a Roadrunner/GTX or Charger with a 440 or a Trans Am
with a 455 and Ford wasn’t ready to throw in the towel either. Yes, they are
rare, but then, that is what MCACN is all about!
CLASS OF ‘62 5Oth ANNIVERSARY DISPLAY
Step back 50 years, when race on Sunday, sell on Monday became the theme of
the day. Big body SD Pontiac’s, Super Stock Dodges and Plymouths and 409
Chevy’s all made a lasting impression on our youth. Drag Racing inspired many
of us and today, the 1962 performance oriented cars are some of the most
desirable examples of American muscle ever built. See the best of the best in
this gathering.
GOING TOPLESS
We all know that the MCACN show is all about seeing the rarest of the rare, and High Performance convertibles were rare even when they were new. This Invitational display will feature real
Hemi and 440+6 Mopar convertibles, RA III and IV Pontiacs, CJ and SCJ Ford and
Mercury’s, L78 and LS6 Chevelles, Stage 1 Buick’s and more. Some of the
world’s most valuable and desirable drop-tops will be on display including
several one-off machines. When we say we feature the best of the best and the
rarest of the rare, well...stay tuned!
CORVETTE CENTRAL TRIPLE DIAMOND GALLERY
One of the fastest growing features of our show, the Triple Diamond Corvette Gallery and Competition features only the certified best original and restored Corvettes. NCRS Top flight AND Bloomington Gold certification is required in advance, so you know you will be looking at the absolute best Corvettes in the world in this display. Sponsored by Corvette Central.
SHELBY SNAKEPIT
![]() Back by popular demand and hosted by noted author/historian Colin Comer, we will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Shelby American this year, with a special emphasis on the Cobra.
THE BEE HIVE 68-71 SUPER BEE DISPLAY
Plymouth may have taken most of the spotlight with the Roadrunner, but over in
the Dodge camp, they also had a “bare-bones” affordable big-block offering.
The ‘68 Coronet Super Bee started as a rubber mat post body 383 or Hemi
powered affordable muscle machine. Eventually it would evolve into one of the
hottest performance muscle cars ever built, with its final year offering in
the all new Charger body style. 383’s, 440-6’s and Hemi’s will be on display
including the wild lift-off hood 69 1/2 6-pack Bees. Sponsored by The Wellborn Musclecar Museum and Hosted by Michele Dozeman.
MUSCLE CARS AND MUSCLE BIKES
This one is just plain fun!
Back in 1963 Schwinn launched the original Stingray bicycles, inspired by
dragsters and muscle cars. For many of us, this is where it all started! The
later 60’s brought numerous manufacturers to the game and the market exploded.
1968 saw the introduction of the Krate bikes and also England’s Raleigh
Chopper and things would never be the same. See an amazing array of various
brand Muscle Bikes in this very special gathering.
sYc SUPERCARS AND MEMBERS DISPLAY
We are pleased to be able to provide a showcase for some of the finest dealer-built Supercars from Yenko, Gibb and others along with outstanding Muscle Cars owned by members of the www.yenko.net
website. This site serves as a home for the “who’s-who” of the Muscle Car
hobby, and this display is one of the most popular MCACN features.
TRANS AM TERRORS
The Trans-Am race series inspired many of the manufacturers to offer cars
built to not only accelerate, but handle too. With the introduction of the
Z/28 in ‘67, the gloves were off! See AAR Cuda’s, Z/28 Camaro’s, Pontiac Trans
Am’s, AMC Javelins, Challenger T/A’s and more, in both race and street trim in
this gathering.
This is just the beginning of what will be another outstanding world-class
event for the Muscle Car, Dealer-built Supercar and Corvette enthusiast. We
are now accepting applications for cars and vendors and we also have select
Sponsorship opportunities. The 2012 show applications are now up on our
website for both car entries and commercial and swap space. We will be in AZ
for Auction week, so if you are out there and want to talk MCACN, don’t
hesitate to give me a call; 586-549.5291.
![]() As always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions. If you own a car that may qualify for one of our special displays, please contact bashton426@gmail.com or call Bob Ashton at 586-549-5291 and remember to tell a friend! The show will return to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, (greater Chicago), IL. November 18-18, 2012.
With Sincere Appreciation
